[Remember] when Abraham said, "My Lord, make this a city of peace and help me and my children to keep away from worshipping idols. 35 My Lord! They have caused many people to go astray. Now, if anyone follows my way, he is from me; and if anyone follows a way opposed to mine, then surely You are Ever-Forgiving, Most Merciful." 36 "O our Lord! I have made some of my offspring to dwell in an uncultivable valley by Your Sacred House (the Ka'bah at Makkah); in order, O our Lord, that they may perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), so fill some hearts among men with love towards them, and (O Allah) provide them with fruits so that they may give thanks. 37 "O our Lord! Certainly, You know what we conceal and what we reveal. Nothing on the earth or in the heaven is hidden from Allah. 38 "All praise is due to God, who has bestowed upon me, in my old age, Ishmael and Isaac! Behold, my Sustainer hears indeed all prayer: 39 My Lord! make me keep up prayer and from my offspring (too), O our Lord, and accept my prayer: 40 O Lord, forgive me, my parents and the faithful on the Day the reckoning is done." 41
