The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 (It is) of the awful tidings, 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 (What they think is certainly despicable!). They will soon come to know (the reality). 4 Again, indeed, they shall know! 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 And have made your sleep as a thing for rest. 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 And made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 and placed in them a blazing lamp 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 And gardens of thick foliage. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 a return for the insolent, 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 save boiling water and wash of the wounds; 25 , A fitting reward. 26 Behold, they were not expecting to be called to account, 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 We have kept account of everything in a book. 29 [And so We shall say:] "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30
