And remember Our servant Job: when he cried to his Lord: “Behold, Satan has afflicted me with much hardship and suffering.” 41 (We commanded him): “Stamp your foot on earth, and here is cool water to wash with and to drink.” 42 We gave him back his family and doubled their number as a blessing from Us and as a reminder to the people of understanding. 43 "Take a handful of herbs," (We said to him), and apply and rub them, and do not make a mistake." We found him patient in adversity, an excellent devotee, always turning in repentance. 44 (Muhammad), recall Our servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, all of whom possessed virtuous hands and clear visions. 45 Verily, We did choose them by granting them (a good thing, i.e.) the remembrance of the home [in the Hereafter and they used to make the people remember it, and also they used to invite the people to obey Allah and to do good deeds for the Hereafter]. 46 In Our sight they are among the chosen and excellent ones. 47 And remember Ishmael, Elisha and Dhu'l-Kifl. Every one of them is among the best. 48 This is a Reminder, and verily, for the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2) is a good final return (Paradise), 49 the Gardens of eternity with gates thrown wide open to them. 50 wherein they will recline, [and] wherein they may [freely] call for many a fruit and drink, 51 ۞ and with them maidens restraining their glances of equal age. 52 This it is that ye are promised for the Day of Reckoning. 53 Indeed this is Our sustenance, which will never end. 54 All of this; but, for the proud there is an ill return. 55 Hell, wherein they roast: a wretched couch. 56 This - so let them taste it - is scalding water and [foul] purulence. 57 and other sufferings of the kind. 58 Here is a multitude rushing headlong with you. There is no welcome for them. They will roast in the fire. 59 They will say: "In fact, it is you who will have no welcome. It is you who brought this upon us. What an evil place of rest!" 60 They will say: “Our Lord, give twofold punishment in the Fire to him who has led us to this.” 61 And they will say, "Why do we not see men whom we used to count among the worst? 62 Is it that we mistakenly made fun of them; or have they disappeared from our sight?” 63 Such, behold, will in truth be the [confusion and] mutual wrangling of the people of the fire! 64
