The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the Star when it setteth, 1 That your companion is not confused, nor has he gone astray, 2 Neither does he speak of his own will. 3 This is only revelation communicated, 4 Bestowed on him by the Supreme Intellect, 5 One vigorous; and he grew clear to view 6 being on the higher horizon. 7 Then he approached and came closer, 8 Till he was two bows length off or yet nearer. 9 Thus He revealed unto His bondman whatsoever He revealed. 10 The heart did not lie [about] what it saw. 11 Will ye therefore dispute with him concerning that which he hath seen? 12 And indeed he (Muhammad SAW) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] at a second descent (i.e. another time). 13 Nigh unto the lote-tree at the boundary. 14 close to the Garden of Refuge. 15 When there covered the Lote Tree that which covered [it]. 16 The sight (of Prophet Muhammad SAW) turned not aside (right or left), nor it transgressed beyond (the) limit (ordained for it). 17 Indeed he saw some of the greatest signs of His Lord. 18 Have you then considered the Lat and the Uzza, 19 And Manat the other third? 20 What! unto you the males and unto Him the females? 21 That indeed is a division most unfair! 22 these are nothing but names which you yourselves have devised, you and your forefathers. God has sent down no authority for them. They follow nothing but conjecture and what their own selves desire, even though guidance has already come to them from their Lord! 23 Shall man have whatever he craves? 24 But to Allah belongs the last (Hereafter) and the first (the world). 25
