The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful One 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him). 2 Created man, 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
