Elucidated (Fussilat)

54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Ha Mim: 1 This is a revelation from the Compassionate, the Merciful. 2 A Book of which the verses are made plain, an Arabic Quran for a people who know: 3 Announcing happy news and warnings. And yet most of them are averse and do not listen, 4 And they say: Our hearts are under coverings from that to which you call us, and there is a heaviness in our ears, and a veil hangs between us and you, so work, we too are working. 5 Say thou: I am only a human being like unto you; only it is revealed unto me that your God is but One God, wherefore take the straight path unto Him and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe be unto the associators. 6 Those who give not the Zakat and they are disbelievers in the Hereafter. 7 (As for) those who believe and do good, they shall surely have a reward never to be cut off. 8
