The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers, 1 who are humble in their prayers; 2 And who do not incline towards indecent matters. 3 and who are intent on inner purity; 4 those who safeguard their chastity 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 Those who seek beyond that are transgressors. 7 And those who fulfil their trusts and keep their promises; 8 And who pay heed to their prayers. 9 These will be the heirs, 10 Who will inherit paradise. There they will abide. 11 And indeed We created man (Adam) out of an extract of clay (water and earth). 12 which was then turned into a living germ and placed in safe depository. 13 Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators. 14 After that, at length ye will die 15 Then indeed you, on the Day of Resurrection, will be resurrected. 16 We have created seven heavens above you and have never been neglectful to Our Creation. 17 And We send down water from the skies in accordance with a measure [set by Us,] and then We cause it to lodge in the earth: but, behold, We are most certainly able to withdraw this [blessing]! 18 With it, We produced for you gardens of palms and vines, yielding abundant fruit for you to eat. 19 We have also created for you the tree that grows on Mount Sinai which produces oil and relish for those who use it. 20 And most surely there is a lesson for you in the cattle: We make you to drink of what is in their bellies, and you have in them many advantages and of them you eat, 21 and upon them and on the ships you are carried. 22
