The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 He hath created man. 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and the moon are scheduled. 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 25
