▼ 15 The Hijjr Valley
Al-Hijjr 6 of 6
People of Hijr rejected the Messengers. 80 We sent them Our Signs, but they persisted in turning away from them. 81 And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure. 82 But the Shout seized them in the morning, 83 And what they earned did not avail them. 84 We have not created but with reason the heavens and the earth and all that lies within them. The Hour (of the great change) is certain to come. So turn away (from them) with a grace. 85 Surely your Lord is the Creator of all things, the Knowing. 86 We have given you the seven oft-recited verses and the great Quran. 87 Do not direct your eyes towards the things We have given to some of their couples to enjoy, and do not at all grieve because of them, and take the Muslims within the folds of your mercy. 88 and say: "Behold, I am indeed the plain warner [promised by God]! 89 Like as We sent down on the dividers 90 Those who made the Quran into shreds. 91 By the Lord, We will hold them all responsible 92 about whatever they had been doing! 93 Therefore publicly announce what you are commanded, and turn away from the polytheists. 94 We shall help you against those who mock you 95 Who set some other god along with Allah. But they will come to know. 96 Indeed, We know your chest is straitened by that they say. 97 So glorify the praises of your Lord and be of those who prostrate themselves (to Him). 98 And serve your Lord until there comes to you that which is certain. 99

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
