The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven of the constellations! 1 And by the Promised Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 2 and [of] Him who witnesses [all,] and [of] that unto which witness is borne [by Him]! 3 That accursed are the men of the trench 4 by a burning fire 5 Behold! they sat over against the (fire), 6 And to that which they did to the believers were witnesses. 7 The only reason for which they tormented the believers was the latter's belief in God, the Majestic, and Praiseworthy. 8 to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. God is witness over all things. 9 Surely (as for) those who persecute the believing men and the believing women, then do not repent, they shall have the chastisement of hell, and they shall have the chastisement of burning. 10 Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow, that is the great achievement. 11 The vengeance of God is terribly severe. 12 Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats. 13 He is the forgiving and the loving, 14 Owner of the Throne, the Exalted. 15 Doer of whatsoever He intendeth. 16 HAS IT ever come within thy ken, the story of the [sinful] hosts 17 Pharaoh and Thamood? 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 But Allah doth encompass them from behind! 20 Nay! This is a Glorious Quran, 21 written on a preserved Tablet. 22
