Verily We bestowed Our favours on Moses and Aaron 114 and We delivered them and their people from the great distress. 115 We helped them, and they became victorious, 116 We gave them the explicit Book, 117 And showed them the straight path, 118 and We left them thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among later generations: 119 "Peace be upon Moses and Aaron!" 120 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 121 they were among Our believing servants. 122 And Ilyas was most surely of the apostles. 123 He told his people, "Why do you not have fear of God? 124 Do you call on Baal and abandon the Best of Creators, 125 Allah is your Lord and the Lord of your ancestors of yore.” 126 But they denounced him as a liar, so they will surely be arraigned (for punishment), 127 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 128 And We left for him among the posterity: 129 Peace be with the followers of Elias. 130 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 131 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 132 And indeed Lut is one of the Noble Messengers. 133 When We saved him and his household, every one, 134 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 135 Then We destroyed the others. 136 You pass by their desolate habitations in the morning 137 And at night; will you not then reflect? 138
