Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
