Then when the sent ones entered unto the household of Lut. 61 He said, "Indeed, you are people unknown." 62 They said: Nay, but we bring thee that concerning which they keep disputing, 63 "Yet we bring to you the truth, and we are truthful. 64 "So leave with your family late in the night, yourself remaining in the rear, and let none turn back to look, and go where you will be commanded." 65 And [through Our messengers] We revealed unto him this decree: "The last remnant of those [sinners] shall be wiped out in the morn." 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. (* To the house of Prophet Lut.) 67 Lut said: "These are my guests: disgrace me not: 68 "But fear Allah, and shame me not." 69 "Did we not restrain you," they said, "from (entertaining) creatures from the outside world?" 70 He said, “These women of our tribe are my daughters, if you have to.” 71 By your life, [O Muhammad], indeed they were, in their intoxication, wandering blindly. 72 At sunrise a dreadful Shout seized them. 73 And We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay. 74 Surely in this are signs for those who examine. 75 That town lies on a road which still exists. 76 Surely, in that there is a sign for those who believe. 77 And the dwellers of the thicket also were most surely unjust. 78 We afflicted them with punishment. Both people had clear (divine) authority among them. 79
