Said [Moses]: "O my Sustainer! Open up my heart [to Thy light,] 25 'and do Thou ease for me my task. 26 And untie the knot from my tongue 27 That they may understand my saying. 28 and appoint for me, from my household, someone who will help me bear my burden - 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 Increase through him my strength 31 and let him share my task 32 That we may glorify Thee much 33 and remember Thee without cease! 34 Surely You know us well." 35 He replied: 'Moses, your request is granted. 36 "And indeed We conferred a favour on thee another time (before). 37 When We inspired unto thy mother that which We inspired, 38 Saying: Put him into a chest, then cast it down into the river, then the river shall throw him on the shore; there shall take him up one who is an enemy to Me and enemy to him, and I cast down upon you love from Me, and that you might be brought up before My eyes; 39 [And We favored you] when your sister went and said, 'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone, but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses. 40 I have chosen you for My service. 41 "Go you and your brother with My Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), and do not, you both, slacken and become weak in My Remembrance. 42 Go both of you to Pharaoh, for he has transgressed all bounds, 43 and speak to him gently, perhaps he may take heed or fear (Allah)." 44 The two said:" Lord! We fear he may commit excesses against us, or transgress all bounds." 45 Answered He: "Fear not! Verily, I shall be with you two, hearing and seeing [all]. 46 So go you both to him and say: Surely we are two apostles of your Lord; therefore send the children of Israel with us and do not torment them! Indeed we have brought to you a communication from your Lord, and peace is on him who follows the guidance; 47 Indeed, it has been revealed to us that the punishment will be upon whoever denies and turns away.' " 48 Pharaoh said:" Moses! Who is the Lord of the two of you?" 49 Musa said: our Lord is He who vouchsafed unto everything its creation, then guided it. 50 He said: What then is the state of the generations of old? 51 Musa said: the knowledge thereof is with my Lord in the Book; my Lord erreth not, nor He forgetteth. 52 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and therein threaded roads for you, and sent down water out of heaven, and therewith We have brought forth divers kinds of plants. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle: verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 54
