The unbelievers say: "We do not believe in this Qur'an, nor in what was (sent) before it." If only you could see the sinners when they are made to stand before their Lord, blaming one another! Those who were weak will say to those who were arrogant: "But for you we would have certainly been believers." 31 Those that waxed proud will say to those that were abased, 'What, did we bar you from the guidance after it came to you? Nay, rather you were sinners.' 32 And those who were deemed weak will say unto those who were stiff necked: aye, it was your plotting by night and by day, when ye were commanding us that we should disbelieve in Allah and set up peers unto Him. And they will keep secret their shame when they behold the torment. And We shall place shackles on the necks of those who disbelieved. They shall be requited not save according to that which they had been working. 33 Never did We send a warner to a population, but the wealthy ones among them said: "We believe not in the (Message) with which ye have been sent." 34 They said: "We have more in wealth and in sons, and we cannot be punished." 35 Say: 'My Lord outspreads and withholds His provision to whomsoever He will. But most people do not know' 36
