We indeed created man; and We know what his soul whispers within him, and We are nearer to him than the jugular vein. 16 When both receivers (the angels) receive, one on his right, the other on his left, 17 whatever phrase he utters, an observer is present. 18 Lo, the agony of death has indeed come with the Truth. That is what you had sought to avoid. 19 And the Horn shall be blown; that is the Day of Threat! 20 And every person will come forth along with an (angel) to drive (him), and an (angel) to bear witness. 21 'Thou wast heedless of this; therefore We have now removed from thee thy covering, and so thy sight today is piercing.' 22 His companion will say: "Here is (the record) I have ready with me." 23 "Cast into Hell every ungrateful, rebellious one, 24 Forbidder of good, exceeder of limits, doubter, 25 "Who set up another ilah (god) with Allah, then (both of you) cast him in the severe torment." 26 ۞ His comrade saith: Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he was (himself) far gone in error. 27 He will say: "Dispute not with each other in My Presence: I had already in advance sent you Warning. 28 The Word will not be changed in My presence, nor am I an oppressor at all unto My bondmen. 29
