The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Merciful 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created man. 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
