Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the loosed ones successively 1 storming tempestuously 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 and place it in a secure place 21 till a known term decreed? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 the living and the dead? 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
