Does it not guide the people who inherit the land from former people that We can punish them for their sins if We will? And seal up their hearts so that they would not be able to lend an ear to words of guidance? 100 These towns-- We relate to you some of their stories, and certainly their apostles came to them with clear arguments, but they would not believe in what they rejected at first; thus does Allah set a seal over the hearts of the unbelievers 101 We found most of them untrue to their covenants, indeed We found most of them to be defiant. 102 Then after them We sent Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they wrongfully rejected them: So see what was the end of those who made mischief. 103 Moses told the Pharaoh, "I am a Messengers from the Lord of the Universe. 104 I must only speak what is true about God. I have brought you miracles from your Lord; therefore, let the children of Israel go free". 105 He said: if thou hast brought a sign, forth with it then, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 106 Thereupon [Moses] threw down his staff, and lo! it was a serpent, plainly visible; 107 and he drew forth his hand, and it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 108
