The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I CALL TO witness those who stand arrayed in rows, 1 by those who reprove severely, 2 and the reciters of a Remembrance, 3 Verily, verily, your Allah is one!- 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all between them, and Lord of every point at the rising of the sun! 5 Behold, We have adorned the skies nearest to the earth with the beauty of stars, 6 and have protected it from every rebellious satan. 7 so they cannot listen to the High Assembly, for they are pelted from every side. 8 rejected, and theirs is an everlasting chastisement, 9 but if anyone does succeed in snatching a glimpse [of such knowledge,] he is [henceforth] pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Are they a stronger creation, or are other things of our creation, (the angels, the heavens etc.)?” We have indeed created them from sticky clay. 11 No wonder you are surprised as they laugh with scorn. 12 And, when they are admonished, pay no heed,- 13 and when they see a miracle, they mock 14 and they say, 'This is nothing but manifest sorcery. 15 "What! when we die, and become dust and bones, shall we (then) be raised up (again) 16 Will our forefathers also be brought to life again?" 17 Say: "Yea, indeed - and most abject will you then be!" 18 It shall be but one shout, lo! they shall be staring. 19 They will say, "Woe to us! This is the Day of Reckoning." 20 [And they will be told:] "This is the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false - the Day] which you were wont to call a lie!" 21
