The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him). 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
