The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 About the great event, 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 But they will soon come to know. 4 Again, no indeed; they shall soon know! 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 And made the night as clothing 10 and We made the day for a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 And gardens of thick foliage. 16 Indeed, the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 And the heaven will be opened it therefore becomes like gates. 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 They will remain in it for ages. 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 save boiling water and pus 25 a fitting requital, 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 And everything We have recorded in a book. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
