Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion, and He is Able to do all things. 1 [He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving - 2 Who created the seven heavens one above another; you see no incongruity in the creation of the Beneficent Allah; then look again, can you see any disorder? 3 Then turn back the eye again and again; your look shall come back to you confused while it is fatigued. 4 We have adorned the lowest sky with lamps, and made them missiles against the devils, for whom We have prepared a torment of most intense fire. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there awaits the chastisement of Gehenna -- an evil homecoming! 6 When they will be cast into it, they will hear it roar as it boils, 7 Almost bursting for fury. Whenever a group is cast into it, its keeper shall ask them: Did there not come to you a warner? 8 They will say, “Yes, why not – indeed a Herald of Warning did come to us – in response we denied and said ‘Allah has not sent down anything – you are not except in a great error’.” 9 They will say: "If we had listened and been wise, we would not have been among the inmates of Hell." 10 So they shall acknowledge their sins, but far will be (forgiveness) from the inmates of the burning fire. 11 As for those who fear their Lord unseen, for them is Forgiveness and a great Reward. 12 And whether you speak softly or proclaim it aloud; He indeed knows what lies within the hearts! 13 Shall He not know, who created? And He is the All-subtle, the All-aware. 14
