Seest thou one who turns back, 33 Who gives but little, and is niggardly? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 and Abraham, he who paid his debt in full? 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
