The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 It is the piercing star - 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
