The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And the close of night, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 So whither do you stray? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
