98 verses, revealed in Mecca after Initiator (Faater) before T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Kaf. Ha. Ya. Ain. Sad. 1 Commemorate the beneficence of your Lord on Zachariah, His devotee, 2 When he called to his Lord a private supplication. 3 He said: My Lord! surely my bones are weakened and my head flares with hoariness, and, my Lord! I have never been unsuccessful in my prayer to Thee: 4 But I fear my relatives after me; and my wife is barren. So grant me a successor as a favour from You 5 Who shall inherit of me and inherit (also) of the house of Jacob. And make him, my Lord, acceptable (unto Thee). 6 'O Zachariah, We give thee good tidings of a boy, whose name is John. No namesake have We given him aforetime.' 7 He said: My Lord! How can I have a son when my wife is barren and I have reached infirm old age? 8 (The angel) said, "This is true, but your Lord says, 'For Me it is easy; I created you when you did not exist". 9 He said, "My Lord, grant me a sign!" He said, "Your sign will be that you will not speak to anyone for three successive days and nights, although sound in body." 10 So Zakariya came out to his people from him chamber: He told them by signs to celebrate Allah's praises in the morning and in the evening. 11 (It was said to his son): "O Yahya (John)! Hold fast the Scripture [the Taurat (Torah)]." And We gave him wisdom while yet a child. 12 and a tenderness from Us, and purity; and he was godfearing, 13 and cherishing to his parents. Never was he insolent or rebellious. 14 So peace on him the day he was born, the day he will die, and the day that he will be raised from the dead. 15

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
