We saved the Children of Israel from their humiliating torment 30 at the hands of Pharaoh: he was a tyrant who exceeded all bounds. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge, above all beings, 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 Indeed these disbelievers proclaim; – 34 “This is our first and only death, and we shall never be raised again. 35 Bring us our fathers, if you speak truly!' 36 Are they, then, better than the people of Tubba and those before them, whom We destroyed because they were truly lost in [the same] sin? 37 It was not in idle sport that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We created them in nothing else except the truth. But most do not know. 39 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is the appointed time for them all - 40 the Day when a friend shall be of no avail to his friend nor shall they be helped, 41 except those on whom Allah will have mercy. He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 42
