The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise and warn! 2 Thy Lord magnify, 3 And thy garments keep free from stain! 4 Pollution shun! 5 And bestow not favour that thou mayest receive more. 6 and be patient unto thy Lord. 7 For when the Trump is sounded 8 that very Day shall be a day of anguish, 9 and for the disbelievers, in particular, it will not be at all easy. 10 Leave Me and him whom I created alone, 11 and to whom I have granted resources vast, 12 And sons always present by his side, 13 And made life smooth and comfortable for him! 14 And who yet coveteth that shall increase. 15 Nay! He is forward unto Our signs; 16 Anon I shall afflict him with a fearful woe. 17 Verily, he thought and plotted; 18 So let him be cursed! How he plotted! 19 yea, he destroys himself, the way he meditates! 20 Then he looked around, 21 then frowned and scowled; 22 Then he turned back and was haughty; 23 Then he said: "This is nothing but magic from that of old; 24 These are only words from a mere mortal". 25 I will cast him into the fire of Hell. 26 And what could make thee conceive what hell-fire is? 27 It spares not, neither leaves alone 28 Burning the skins! 29 Above it are nineteen guards. 30 And We have set none but angels as guardians of the Fire, and We have fixed their number (19) only as a trial for the disbelievers, in order that the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) may arrive at a certainty [that this Quran is the truth as it agrees with their Books i.e. their number (19) is written in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] and the believers may increase in Faith (as this Quran is the truth) and that no doubts may be left for the people of the Scripture and the believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease (of hypocrisy) and the disbelievers may say: "What Allah intends by this (curious) example?" Thus Allah leads astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none can know the hosts of your Lord but He. And this (Hell) is nothing else than a (warning) reminder to mankind. 31
