The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 where then are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
