Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 Peace be unto Noah among the peoples! 79 As such We recompense the gooddoers, 80 For he was one of our believing Servants. 81 [and so We saved him and those who followed him] and then We caused the others to drown. 82 ۞ Abraham was one of his followers. 83 When he came to his Lord with a heart compliant, 84 when he said to his father and his folk, 'What do you serve? 85 "Is it a falsehood aliha (gods) other than Allah that you seek? 86 What do you think about the Lord of the Universe?" 87 The people invited him to attend their feast). Then he looked at the stars 88 and said: “I am sick.” 89 But they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! do you not eat? 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he started striking them down with his right hand. 93 Then they (the worshippers of idols) came, towards him, hastening. 94 Said he: What! do you worship what you hew out? 95 and God created you and what you make?' 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 Their desire was to outwit him, but We made them to be the humiliated. 98 And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous." 100 So We gave him the good news of a clement son. 101 And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said: 'My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion' He replied: 'Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast' 102 Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face, 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 For this was obviously a trial- 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 108 'Peace be upon Abraham' 109 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 110 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 111 And we gave him tidings of the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among their descendants are some who do good, but some who wrong themselves. 113
