The tribe of Thamud also rejected the messengers. 141 When their brother Salih said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 142 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 143 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 144 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 145 Will you be left secure in what is here; 146 amidst gardens and fountains, 147 And corn-fields and palm-trees whereof the spathes are fine? 148 And dwellings hewed out of mountains ingeniously? 149 So fear you God, and obey you me; 150 Do not obey the orders of the transgressors 151 Who make mischief in the land and do not act aright. 152 They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched! 153 You are naught but a mortal like ourselves; so bring a sign if you are one of the truthful. 154 He said, “This is the she-camel one day shall be her turn to drink, and on the other appointed day, shall be your turn.” 155 And do not touch her with evil, lest the punishment of a grievous day should overtake you. 156 Then they hamstrung her; and then they became regretful. 157 So the torment took hold of them: verily herein is a sign, but most of them are not believers. 158 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 159

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
