S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Sad: By the Qur'an, Full of Admonition: (This is the Truth). 1 No, the unbelievers exalt in their division. 2 How many generations We have destroyed before them! And they cried out when it was too late to escape. 3 They were surprised that one of them had come to them as warner; and the unbelievers said: "He is a deceiving sorcerer. 4 Has he turned so many gods into one deity? This is indeed a strange thing!" 5 A group of the pagans walked out of a meeting with the Prophet and told the others, "Let us walk away. Be steadfast in the worship of your gods. This man wants to dominate you. 6 "We never heard (the like) of this among the people of these latter days: this is nothing but a made-up tale!" 7 Has the reminder been revealed to him from among us? Nay! they are in doubt as to My reminder. Nay! they have not yet tasted My chastisement! 8 Or do they hold the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Almighty, the Great Bestower? 9 Is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, for them? So would they not just ascend using ropes? 10 They are only a small band among the defeated confederate tribes. 11 The people of Noah denied before them, and [the tribe of] 'Aad and Pharaoh, the owner of stakes, 12 So also did the people of Thamud, Lot, and the dwellers of the Forest. 13 There was not one of those that did not belie the Messengers. Therefore, My retribution was realized. 14
