The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 The piercing star! 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
