Therefor warn (men, O Muhammad). By the grace of Allah thou art neither soothsayer nor madman. 29 Or do they say: A poet, we wait for him the evil accidents of time. 30 Say: 'Await! I shall be awaiting with you.' 31 Enjoin them their understandings to this? or are they a people conumacious? 32 Or do they say: "He himself has composed this [message]"? Nay, but they are not willing to believe! 33 But then, [if they deem it the work of a mere mortal,] let them produce another discourse like it - if what they say be true! 34 Were they created of nothing, or were they themselves the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather, they are not certain. 36 Do they own the treasures of your Lord? Have they any authority over God? 37 Do they have a ladder (by which they can climb up to the heavens) and listen (to the angels) and come back to the rest of the people with clear authority? 38 Or has He daughters while you have sons? 39 Or, do you ask them for a wage, so that they become weighed down in debt? 40 Or have they the unseen so that they write (it) down? 41 Or do they want to entrap [thee in contradictions]? But they who are bent on denying the truth - it is they who are truly entrapped! 42 Or have they a god other than God? Exalted be God over what they ascribe as partners [to Him]! 43 Even if they were to see a part of the heavens falling down upon them, they would say, "It is only dense cloud". 44 So, leave them until they face their day (of doom) when they will be stunned. 45 A Day whereon their plotting will avail them not at all, nor will they be succoured. 46 And verily for those who do wrong there is a torment before that; but most of them know not. 47 So wait patiently (O Muhammad SAW) for the Decision of your Lord, for verily, you are under Our Eyes, and glorify the Praises of your Lord when you get up from sleep. 48 And in the night, give Him glory too, and at the setting of the stars. 49
