The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The time of reckoning has drawn near for mankind, yet they are heedless and turn away. 1 Never does a new reminder come to them from their Lord but they listen to it with dalliance. 2 With their hearts occupied (with evil things) those who do wrong, conceal their private counsels, (saying): "Is this (Muhammad SAW) more than a human being like you? Will you submit to magic while you see it?" 3 Say, "My Lord knows every word spoken in the heavens and on the earth. He is All Hearing, All Knowing." 4 Nay, they say:"These (revelations of the Quran which are inspired to Muhammad SAW) are mixed up false dreams! Nay, he has invented it! Nay, he is a poet! Let him then bring us an Ayah (sign as a proof) like the ones (Prophets) that were sent before (with signs)!" 5 The people of the town whom We had destroyed also had no faith. Will these people then believe in God? 6 For [even] before thy time, [O Muhammad,] We never sent [as Our apostles] any but [mortal] men, whom We inspired - hence, [tell the deniers of the truth,] "If you do not know this, ask the followers of earlier revelation" 7 nor did We fashion them as bodies that ate not food, neither were they immortal; 8 Then We fulfilled Our promise to them and We saved them and those with them whom We pleased, and We destroyed those who exceeded all bounds. 9 We have sent down to you a Book which has a reminder for you. Do you not understand? 10
