Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Have you heard the story of the overwhelming event (the Day of Judgment)? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 roasting at a scorching Fire 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 Which shall neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 and raised couches, 13 and goblets laid out, 14 And cushions set in a row, 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 So, [O Prophet] exhort them: your task is only to exhort, 21 you are not their keeper. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
