The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ There hath approached unto mankind their reckoning, while they in neglect are turning away. 1 No mention comes to them anew from their Lord except that they listen to it while they are at play 2 In sport being their hearts. And those who do wrong keep secret their private discourse this is but a human being like unto yourselves; will ye then betake yourselves to magic while ye know? 3 He said: My Lord knows what is spoken in the heaven and the earth, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 4 But they say, "[The revelation is but] a mixture of false dreams; rather, he has invented it; rather, he is a poet. So let him bring us a sign just as the previous [messengers] were sent [with miracles]." 5 The people of the town whom We had destroyed also had no faith. Will these people then believe in God? 6 And We sent not before you (O Muhammad SAW) but men to whom We inspired, so ask the people of the Reminder [Scriptures - the Taurat (Torah), the Injeel (Gospel)] if you do not know. 7 We did not make their bodies immune to hunger, nor were they immortal. 8 Then We fulfilled the promise We had made to them: We rescued them and those whom We wished, and We destroyed those who exceeded all bounds. 9 We have sent a Book, (the Quran), which is an honor for you. Will you then not understand? 10
