Nay, by the Moon 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 A warning unto him of you who shall go forward or who chooseth to lag behind. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 as if they were startled asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
