Say, [O Muhammad], "I am only a warner, and there is not any deity except Allah, the One, the Prevailing. 65 Lord of the heavens and earth and everything between them, the Almighty, the Most Forgiving." 66 Say, "This is momentous news, 67 From which you turn away. 68 I have no knowledge of the dispute among the angels (concerning their attitude towards Adam). 69 Only this has been revealed to me that I am a distinct warner. 70 (Remember) When your Lord said to the angels, “I will create a human from clay.” – 71 And when I have fashioned him and breathed into him of My Spirit, then fall down before him prostrate, 72 Then the angels bowed themselves all together, 73 except iblis (satan, the father of the jinn), he became too proud, for he was one of the unbelievers. 74 Said (God): "O Iblis, what hindered you from adoring what I created by My own authority? Are you too proud, or too high and mighty?" 75 Satan replied, "I am better than him. You created me from fire, but You created him from clay." 76 He said, “Therefore exit from heaven, for you have been outcast.” (To disrespect the Prophets – peace and blessings be upon them – is blasphemy.) 77 And lo! My curse is on thee till the Day of Judgment. 78 He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected." 79 so He said, "You are granted respite 80 Till the appointed day." 81 He said, "By Your Glory, I shall seduce all of them (children of Adam). 82 except for those among them who are Your chosen servants." 83 He said: The Truth is, and the Truth I speak, 84 [That] I will surely fill Hell with you and those of them that follow you all together." 85 Say, "I do not ask you for any recompense for this, nor am I a man of false pretentions: 86 It is nothing but a reminder to the nations; 87 "And you shall certainly know the truth of it after a while. 88
