And when the sent angels came to the house of Lut. 61 he said: "Behold, you are people unknown [here]!" 62 They said: "Nay, we have brought to you that concerning which they have been in doubt. 63 And we have come to you with the truth, and we are most surely truthful. 64 So set out with your family during a portion of the night and follow behind them and let not anyone among you look back and continue on to where you are commanded." 65 And We communicated to him the decree that by the morning those people will be totally destroyed. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 He said: Lo! they are my guests. Affront me not! 68 And guard against (the punishment of) Allah and do not put me to shame. 69 They answered: "Have we not forbidden thee [to offer protection] to any kind of people?" 70 "Here are my daughters," said Lot, "if you are so active." 71 By your life! In their drunkenness they were truly blind. 72 So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook them at the time of sunrise; 73 And We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay. 74 Indeed in this are signs for people who perceive. 75 And indeed that township is upon a road still in use. 76 surely in that is a sign for believers. 77 And indeed the Dwellers of the Woods were unjust. 78 So We took vengeance on them. And verily both are on a high-road open. 79
