Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 and the partitioners, 4 Verily the promise made to you is true: 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Doom?' 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
