The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 he was created of gushing water 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
