Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
