Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

The desire to have more of the worldly gains have pre-occupied you so much (that you have neglected remembring God), 1 Until you visit the graveyards. 2 But you will come to know soon; -- 3 Indeed you will come to know soon. 4 Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have occupied yourselves in worldly things) 5 You should most certainly have seen the hell; 6 In the end you will indeed, most surely, behold it with the eye of certainty: 7 On that Day, you shall be questioned about the pleasures. 8
