The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the sky, (displaying) the Zodiacal Signs; 1 by the Promised Day, 2 And [by] the witness and what is witnessed, 3 slain were the Men of the Pit, 4 the makers of the fuel-stoked fire! 5 When they were sitting at its edge. 6 and were themselves witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 They had no other reason for hating them except that they believed in God the mighty, worthy of praise, 8 God to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and God is Witness over everything. 9 Surely those who tormented the believing men and the believing women and then did not repent, theirs shall be the chastisement of Hell, and theirs shall be the chastisement of burning. 10 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens beneath which rivers flow; this is the great success. 11 Indeed, the seizing of your Lord is severe. 12 He it is Who creates for the first time and He it is Who will create again, 13 He is the forgiving and the loving, 14 the Owner of the Throne, the Glorious One, 15 and the Most Effective in His decision. 16 Has the story reached you of the hosts, 17 of the Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Nay, but those who disbelieve live in denial 19 However, God encompassed their activities. 20 But this is an honored Qur'an 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
