Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
