Joseph (Yousuf)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Alif-Lam-Ra. These are the verses of a Book luminous. 1 Indeed, We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur'an that you might understand. 2 In revealing this Quran to you, We tell you the best of the stories of which you were unaware. 3 When Joseph said to his father: 'Father, I saw eleven planets, and the sun and the moon; I saw them prostrating themselves before me' 4 He said, 'O my son, relate not thy vision to thy brothers, lest they devise against thee some guile. Surely Satan is to man a manifest enemy. 5 Your Lord will choose you and teach you to interpret events, and confer His favours on you and the house of Jacob, as He had done in the case of two ancestors of yours, Abraham and Isaac, before you. Indeed your Lord is all-knowing and all-wise." 6
