▼ 37 The Arrangers
Al-Saaffaat 5 of 5
AND, BEHOLD, Jonah was indeed one of Our message-bearers 139 He abandoned his people 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was condemned: 141 The fish then swallowed him and he blamed himself. (For not waiting for Allah’s command.) 142 And had he not been of those who hallow Him, 143 He would have stayed in its belly till the day the dead are raised. 144 ۞ But We caused him to be cast forth on to the beach, sick as he was, 145 We made a plant of gourd grow up for him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (people) or even more. 147 and they believed, and We gave them enjoyment for awhile. 148 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), whether the daughters are for your Lord and the sons for them! 149 Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses?" 150 No indeed! It is one of their fabrications when they say: 151 “Allah has begotten.” They are liars! 152 Did He (then) choose daughters rather than sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you judge? 154 Will you then not take heed? 155 Or have you clear evidence? 156 Then bring your book, if you are truthful. 157 They assert kinship between Him and the angels. But the angels know that they (the liars) will be arraigned (in Hell). 158 Purity is to Allah from the matters they fabricate. 159 Except His chosen creatures who do not. 160 So surely you and what you worship, 161 Cannot lead astray [turn away from Him (Allah) anyone of the believers], 162 Except one who is (destined) to burn in Hell. 163 [The angels say], "Every single one of us has his place assigned: 164 Verily we range ourselves in rows (as humble servants) 165 And we are those who sing hallelujas to Him." 166 AND, INDEED, they [who deny the truth] have always been wont to say, 167 "If we had a reminder as had the men of old (before the coming of Prophet Muhammad SAW as a Messenger of Allah). 168 We would have been the chosen creatures of God." 169 But (now) they disbelieve in it, so they will come to know. 170 And indeed Our Word has already gone forth for Our bondmen who were sent. 171 That undoubtedly, only they will be helped. 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 So, [O Muhammad], leave them for a time. 174 And watch them, for they will soon see. 175 Do they, then, [really] wish that Our chastisement be hastened on? 176 But then, once it alights upon them, hapless will be the awakening of those who were warned [to no avail]! 177 Stay away from them for a while 178 and see; soon they shall see! 179 Glorified be your Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him! 180 And peace be on the Messengers! 181 And all praise unto Allah the Lord of the worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
