And he whose sight is dim to the remembrance of the Beneficent, We assign unto him a devil who becometh his comrade; 36 Surely the (devils) obstruct them from the path, though they think they are rightly guided, -- 37 Till, when he cometh unto Us, he saith (unto his comrade): Ah, would that between me and thee there were the distance of the two horizons - an evil comrade! 38 And never will it benefit you that Day, when you have wronged, that you are [all] sharing in the punishment. 39 So will you make the deaf listen or show the path to the blind, and to those who are in open error? (The disbelievers whose hearts are sealed, are deaf and blind to the truth). 40 But if We should take you away, still We shall inflict retribution on them; 41 Or if We shew thee that wherewith We threaten them, verily We are going to prevail over them. 42 Therefore, hold fast to that which is revealed to you, indeed, you are on the Straight Path. 43 And verily it is an admonition unto thee and thy people; and presently ye will be questioned. 44 And ask thou Our apostles whom We sent before thee: appointed We gods, beside the Compassionate, to be worshipped? 45
